The 36-year-old has urged the broadcasters to talk and foucs more on his game. Kohli said, “A broadcast show needs to talk about the game and not what I ate yesterday for lunch or my favourite chole-bhature place in Delhi. You can’t have that in cricket matches. Rather, you could talk about what an athlete is going through.”

Kohli, was the second best scorer for India in the recently held Champions Trophy 2025. The 36-year-old scored a century in the game against Pakistan and also scored 84 in the first semi-finals against Australia. The former RCB skipper was the best batter last season in the IPL and is the all-time leading scorer in the league with 8004 runs.

Can RCB win their first IPL title in 2025?

Virat Kohli will be playing under Rajat Patidar and hoping to end the jinx for RCB of not winning a title. Bengaluru qualified for the playoff stages last year before losing to Rajasthan Royals. Bengaluru will open their campaign on Saturday at the Eden Gardens against champions Kolkata Knight Riders.

The RCB outfit have brought several big name players in a bid to win the title. Phil Salt, Jacob Bethell, Tim David, Romario Shepherd, and Josh Hazlewood are amongst the big name overseas stars who have been picked up in the IPL 2025 auctions. Phil Salt was purchased after his stellar showing for KKR which played a key role in the team winning the title.

As far as Indian talents go, the likes of Jitesh Sharma, Krunal Pandya, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar have joined the outfit. The three players have been part of IPL winning sides and will head into the new season with a hope to help Bengaluru win the title. Yet again the onus of leading the batting will fall on Kohli who will be RCB’s talisman yet again.
