Indian wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel has taken a playful shot at Indian skipper Rohit Sharma. The youngster took to social media and posted a picture of himself with Khaleel Ahmed, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, and Abhishek Sharma sitting in the airport lounge.

Dhruv Jurel captioned the pic by saying “Garden main mana kia toh airport main ghumne aa agye”. It was a playful jibe at Rohit Sharma’s now famous comment made during the India vs England Test series earlier this year.

The youngster recently made his T20 debut during the tour of Zimbabwe. After playing the first two games, Jurel was rested for the next three matches. His place was taken by Sanju Samson who made his way into the team to get some valuable playtime.

Amit Mishra doesn’t see Shubman Gill as captain

Former Indian star Amit Mishra has slammed the decision to give the captaincy to Shubman Gill. The youngster led India to a series win against Zimbabwe with 4-1 margin to keep the proud bilateral record alive.

Speaking to Subhankar Mishra on his podcast, Amit Mishra said, “Mai Shubman ko captain nahi banaunga, kyonki maine usey IPL me dekha, he doesn't know ki captaincy kaise karna hai, uske paas captaincy ka idea hi nahi hai.”

The veteran star also said “Just because he is a part of the Indian team, he shouldn't be made the captain. Gill has done well in the IPL over the last few seasons, he did fine in the Indian team as well. The Indian team made him the captain as they wanted to give him the leadership experience, which wasn't visible when he led Gujarat Titans in IPL”

When asked who is the best candidate to lead India in the T20I format, Amit Mishra said “There's Sanju Samson, Rishabh Pant, Ruturaj Gaikwad who can lead India in T20Is. Right now, the BCCI is only looking to assess all option”

The BCCI is set to meet on Tuesday and name the squad for the T20I and ODI teams for the Sri Lankan tour. This will be the first time that Gautam Gambhir will take charge of the side as the coach with two different captains likely to be picked.
