Cricket fraternity react to India's iconic philanthropist and industrialist Ratan Tata's demise

The most iconic and beloved Indian citizen and the former chairman of Tata Group, Ratan Naval Tata, passed away at the age of 86 years.

Ratan Naval Tata, the most iconic and beloved Indian citizen and the former chairman of Tata Group, passed away at the age of 86. He was one of the most prolific personalities in the business industry, and he transformed the Tata Group from a regular company to India’s largest and most globally influential business empire. He was associated with the company for more than two decades and was loved by everyone for his great work throughout his career. 

Ratan Tata was admitted to the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on Monday and was taken care of before he passed away on Wednesday night. The news shook the entire nation because he was an impactful man and had done many things for the country and the people. On hearing the news, many cricketers took to Twitter to mourn his demise and wrote meaningful words for the deceased. 

India's former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar arrived at Tata’s Colaba residence in Mumbai to pay his respects. He has met him quite a few times and, hence, was heartbroken on receiving the news. Moreover, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde released a statement mentioning Tata's last rites, which would be conducted with full state honours.

After hearing the news of Ratan Tata's demise, many cricketers, including Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, and Virender Sehwag, took to Twitter to pay their respects to the stalwart who changed the face of the Indian business industry.

The Maharastra Government has informed the people that Tata’s mortal remains will be placed on the lawns of the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) in South Mumbai, and the general public will be allowed inside from 10 AM to 4 PM.
