Ishan Kishan made a terrific comeback to cricket as he scored a century for Jharkhand in the Buchi Babu tournament. The left-handed batter scored 114 runs from just 107 balls to send a timely reminder to the selectors. The 26-year-old hasn’t played for India since the end of 2023 before taking a short break.

Not just with the bat but also with the Gloves the Jharkhand skipper was in his full flow taking three superb catches. Batting on 92 Ishan Kishan hit a huge six to reach 98 and then launched another ball into the stands to reach the three-figure mark.

After his return to India citing mental fatigue, BCCI asked the youngster to play domestic cricket. Ishan Kishan decided to give the Ranji Trophy a miss and eventually lost his central contract with the BCCI.

Jay Shah sends out warning to cricket stars

BCCI secretary Jay Shah has come out and given a warning to stars who miss domestic cricket. During his chat with the Times of India newspaper, Jay Shah said “He will have to follow the rules. He will have to play domestic cricket”

Jay Shah also said “Apart from them everyone else is playing, you must appreciate that. One must note that Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer are playing in the Buchi Babu tournament. We should not insist on players like Rohit and Virat to play in the Duleep Trophy. They will risk injury. If you notice in Australia and England, every international player doesn’t play domestic cricket, you have to treat players with respect”

“We had been a little strict, when Jadeja got injured I was the one who called him and asked him to play domestic cricket. It is certain now whoever gets injured and goes out can only come into the team after proving his fitness in domestic cricket”

The latest century from Ishan Kishan has made sure that the BCCI gets a timely notice. With the series against Bangladesh, New Zealand, and Australia coming up the return to form for the 26-year-old will be a huge relief for the fans.
