The final match of the group phase stages will be against New Zealand which will take place on March 2nd. If India qualify for the knockout phases, their matches will be played in Dubai.

Till now Dubai International Cricket Stadium has hosted 58 ODI matches. Team India played their fifty-over game at this venue in 2018. Incidentally, it was Rohit Sharma who led the side in 2018 during the Asia Cup tournament which was played in the fifty-over format.

India’s first match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium came against Hong Kong during the 2018 Asia Cup tournament. The Men in Blue batted first and scored 285 with Shikhar Dhawan top scoring with 127 and Ambati Rayudu scoring 60. Hong Kong began well as the openers added 174 runs to put the bowlers under pressure. Debutant Khaleel Ahmed picked 3/48 to help India win by 26 runs.

In the next match, India beat Pakistan by eight wickets with 21 overs to spare. Skipper Rohit Sharma was the best batter for India with his 39-ball 52 52-run knock. The third game against Bangladesh, saw the Indian side win by seven wickets. Ravindra Jadeja’s 4/29 bowled out Bangladesh for a mere 173. Rohit yet again played a match-winning knock of 83 not out to lead his side to an easy win.

Team India continued their winning run in Dubai with an easy nine-wicket win against Pakistan. Batting first, the Men in Green scored 237 on the board with Shoaib Malik top-scoring with 78. Shikhar Dhawan (114) and Rohit Sharma (111*) scored centuries to help India overhaul the target inside 40 overs.

MS Dhoni captained his 200th and final game against Afghanistan which ended in a tie. Afghanistan batted first and scored 252/8 from their 50 overs as Mohammad Shahzad top scored with 124 off 116 balls with 11 fours and seven huge sixes. KL Rahul and Ambati Rayudu powered India to a strong start with half-centuries before Afghan bowlers fought back. Rashid Khan dismissed Ravindra Jadeja for 25 runs to ensure the game ended in a tie.

The finals of the tournament saw Bangladesh take on India which was yet another nail-biter. Litton Das scored 121 runs with the bat as he led his side to a total of 222 before being bowled in the 49th over. Mehidy Hasan Miraz (32) and Soumya Sarkar (33) were the only other batters to reach double figures.

Chasing 223 to win, India saw Rohit Sharma fall for 48 runs and were struggling at 83/3 at one stage. MS Dhoni and Dinesh Karthik then added 54 runs for the fourth wicket to bring India back into the contest. After both the set batters were out it was up to the middle order to come to the fore. Kedar Jadhav batting on one leg stayed not out on 23 to guide India to win by three wickets in the final ball of the match.
