It is the penultimate game in the group phase of the Champions Trophy 2025. The National Stadium in Karachi will play host to the final Group B match between South Africa and England on Saturday. Both sides have plenty to play for when they meet on Saturday afternoon in what could be an exciting encounter. 

Team Analysis- South Africa and England

South Africa (SA) began their tournament with a win against Afghanistan by 107 runs. Their next match against Australia was completely washed out, thanks to rain. With three points from two matches, the South Africans knew they had to win the game to make it into the semi-finals. If they lose the match on Saturday, things could get interesting. 

England (ENG) have nothing to lose, having already been knocked out of the tournament. Jos Buttler and his side posted a huge total against Australia in their first match and saw their arch-rivals chase it down with ease. Joe Root then scored 120 in the key game against Afghanistan, but England lost the game by eight runs. The English side could play the role of party poopers and potentially create problems for South Africa.

Once known as a chasing ground, the last few matches have shown that teams batting first have done well here. South Africa will have happy memories of this ground as they beat Afghanistan by a huge margin. It will not come as a surprise that the captain who wins the toss will want to bat first. Fast bowlers get decent purchase with the ball, but it is the spinners who could do damage in the first half. Pacers will get good help under lights and batting will be a tad difficult once the ball gets softer.
