The schedule for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025 is still in progress due to the uncertainty of India's participation. This is mainly because Pakistan is hosting the tournament, and the Indian government isn't ready to send the players to the neighbouring country. The reason stated by BCCI is security issues, which is quite valid considering the situation in Pakistan. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board has urged the BCCI to re-think their decision because the hosts are taking utmost care of the safety concerns.

While all other countries have agreed to visit, it's India who are asking for a hybrid model for the tournament. Since Pakistan are ready to host a cricket event after a long time, they aren't agreeing on the hybrid model as it will take away their whole control of the tournament. On the other hand, the ICC has pushed for a hybrid model for the tournament.

Here are three key scenarios for Champions Trophy 2025:

1. ICC decides on a hybrid model, and Pakistan accepts it:

The first scenario for the tournament to kick start would be ICC's stern decision to go forward with the hybrid model, and Pakistan will have to accept it. The plan of action for the tournament is already ready and adding the hybrid model will involve India too. Without India, ICC would not have started an event because revenue generation would have increased with India's participation.

2. Pakistan denies hybrid model and tournament shifts to UAE or South Africa

The second scenario would be the entire shift of the tournament from Pakistan to the UAE or South Africa. If Pakistan dodges the hybrid model for a long time, the ICC might entirely shift the tournament. This is a good way of getting all the teams together without any concerns.

3. Champions Trophy to be cancelled or postponed to a further date

Well, the possibility of the tournament getting cancelled or postponed is least likely. However, if no conclusion is reached regarding the India vs. Pakistan fight, the ICC might take a harsh step to reschedule the tournament. The Champions Trophy last happened in 2017, and it is the second most important tournament after the World Cups, so every team is excited to participate in it. This feud between the two teams will lead to dissatisfaction among other countries.
