RTM card likely to be brought back

While some franchises want eight retention, others who want a complete overhaul of their squad want fewer retention. However, there are speculations that the BCCI could make it five retentions with 3 RTM (Right To Match) for the IPL 2025 auction.

It is learned that franchises will have time till November 15 to finalise retention decisions. As in the previous edition, the auction is likely to be held in December. The trade window is expected to remain open until seven days before the auction date.
