Bangladesh have reached new heights after beating Pakistan in the 2-match Test series, 2-0. This is seen as the rise of the Bangladesh team as they beat the hosts in their own backyard. After their magnificent win, they have left behind England in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025 points table. Bangladesh are now in the fourth position with three wins out of six matches while England have moved to fifth place with eight wins in 15 matches.

However, the series has taken a lot from the Pakistan team as they dropped to eighth place in the WTC 2025 points table. An embarrassing series followed by the WTC rankings might have hurt the Pakistan team, which will face England in their next assignment. From here, qualifying for the WTC finals seems to be impossible for Pakistan but can be quite dangerous for England. England will be touring Pakistan, and if they lose any match, their position might be hampered.

Hence, the English team will have to be extra cautious in series and focus more on playing good cricket and setting up partnerships in the middle overs. Pakistan bowlers haven't been performing well in the last few games, but since it's cricket, the tables might turn at any moment. So, both teams will have to give their best to see their chances in the tournament.

Pakistan dropped to eighth place in World Test rankings

Pakistan hit the rock bottom after losing two consecutive matches against Bangladesh. Now, the Men in Green have dropped to the eighth position in the World Test rankings after the series. This is their worst ranking in 59 years. They were in sixth place before the series, but now they have gone down, which is even more embarrassing. On the other hand, the Bangladesh team might be proud of their gameplay, but they are still in the ninth position of the World Test rankings. Bangladesh will play their next series against India, while Pakistan will play against England.

Both are dangerous opponents and have a high chance of winning the game. Pakistan skipper Shan Masood was quite disappointed with the team's performance and said, "Extremely disappointed, we were excited for the home season, but the story has been the same as Australia. We have not learnt our lessons. We thought we were playing good cricket in Australia but not doing the job, that's something we need to work on."
