In a relieving piece of news for Delhi Capitals, the Bangladesh Cricket Board has cleared the path for star pacer Mustafizur Rahman to play the last three league games in IPL 2025. On Friday, May 16, BCB released an official statement announcing the clearance of NOC for Rahman to be a part of DC for the remainder of the tournament.

The Bangladesh speedster was signed by Delhi Capitals as a replacement for the young Aussie batter Jake Fraser-McGurk, as he opted to leave the remaining part of the tournament.

The national cricket board of Bangladesh allowed the veteran pacer to be available for his IPL franchise from May 18 to May 24, 2025. Before that, he will be playing for the national side in the first T20I against the UAE in Sharjah.

“As per the decision of BCB Cricket Operations, the Bangladesh Cricket Board has granted a No Objection Certificate to national team pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman for his participation in the ongoing IPL 2025 in India, for the period from 18 to 24 May 2025,” said BCB in the official statement.

“It may also be noted that Mustafizur is available for Bangladesh's first T20 international against the UAE scheduled on 17 May 2025 in Sharjah,” the statement added later.

DC to miss Mitchell Starc and Faf du Plessis in remaining IPL 2025

Apart from this development, the Delhi Capitals have also faced a big blow. The veteran pacer Mitchell Starc, alongside the vice-captain Faf du Plessis and wicketkeeper-batter Donovan Ferreira, will also be missing the rest of the tournament.

The reports understand that the Aussie quick has officially conveyed to the franchise about his unavailability due to the national commitments. He has been selected in the 15-man squad of Australia for the upcoming WTC 2023-25 final against South Africa. The 35-year-old is also expected to join the Cricket Australia’s conditioning camp in UK ahead of the WTC 2023-25 final.
