Indian team has hosted Bangladesh in a two-match test series and three T20I matches. Currently, India are playing in the 2nd test match against Bangladesh in Kanpur. India had won the first test match against Bangladesh by 280 runs in Chennai. After the second test match comes to an end, India will play a three-match T20I series against Bangladesh.
Ahead of Day 4 of the Test match, Bangladesh has announced the 15-player squad that will play against India. On October 6, the three-match Twenty20 International series is scheduled to begin. One of the big name that has come to the forefront is that of Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who is back in the team after a long break.
Though Miraz was the key player for the team, he has missed 24 matches and is being replaced in the recalls by opener Parvez Hossain Emon and left-arm spinner Rakibul Hasan. Emon's growth and potential were emphasized by the Bangladesh cricket selection panel, who cited his strong training session performances as a major factor in the participation. The selectors are eager to provide younger players with further chances to compete internationally, thus this is perceived as a forward-thinking approach.
Bangladesh, who had lost the first Test in the current series and struggled to a draw in the second, will want to rebound in the Twenty20 International series led by Najmul Hossain Shanto against India. The team is a reflection of a change in tactics after the ICC T20 World Cup, as established players like Tanvir Ahmed and Soumya Sarkar were unable to hold onto their spots.
Shakib Al Hasan misses out in the team
Tanvir Ahmed has been chosen to replace Rakibul Hasan, who is presently out with a hand injury. Although, Rakibul might not be a surefire starter, the team management sees him as a versatile player who could be useful in a variety of lineup configurations. The absence of Shakib Al Hasan from the team was one of the main topics of discussion. Selector Gazi Ashraf Hossain also paid respect to Shakib after the veteran declared that he would be retiring from Tests and Twenty20 Internationals.
Bangladesh’s T20 squad: Najmul Hossain Shanto (Captain), Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Parvez Hossain Emon, Tawhid Hridoy, Mahmudullah, Litton Kumer Das, Jaker Ali Anik, Mehidy Hassan Miraz, Shak Mahedi Hasan, Rishad Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Rakibul Hasan.
