Former Pakistan skipper and leading batter Babar Azam has been ignored for the tour of Zimbabwe. Pakistan will play ODI and T20I matches during their tour of Zimbabwe and this will be followed by a tour of Australia. The men in green are set to play the Aussies in a short white ball series.

Babar Azam though finds his name in the team for the Australian tour where Pakistan will play ODI and T20I series. Apart from Babar Azam, pacers Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah have also been ignored for the Zimbabwe tour. The duo though make a return to the team for the Australian tour.

Pakistan are set to play Zimbabwe in 3 ODI matches starting on 24th November with the second and third games to be played on 26th and 28th November. The T20I series is set to begin on 1st December with the next two games to be played on 3rd and 5th December. All the matches will be played in Bulawayo.

Australia will host Pakistan for three-ODI games with Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth as the venues. The matches will be played on 4th, 8th, and 10th November. The T20I series will take place from 14th to 18th November in Brisbane, Sydney, and Hobart as the venues.

Mohammad Rizwan likely to be named as new white ball skipper

Pakistan haven’t named a captain so far for the two white ball tours of Australia and Zimbabwe. As per sources, 32-year-old Mohammad Rizwan is favorite to be named as the new skipper for Pakistan’s white ball team.

Kamran Ghulam who made a great debut during the second Test match against England has been included in the team as well. The likes of Arafat Minhas, Sufiyan Muqeem, Muhammad Irfan Khan, Ahmed Daniyal, and Jahandad Khan have also been included.

Jahandad Khan in particular has been in the radars of selection for a long time after his brilliant showing in PSL 2024. The left-handed batter can hit the ball long and can also bowl with the new ball with his left-arm seam bowling.
