Pakistan registered a huge win over England to square the three-match series 1-1. Noman Ali and Sajid Khan spun the home team to win by 152 runs on the 4th day of the game on Friday. Former Pakistan skipper Babar Azam was one of the earliest names to congratulate the team after the win.

He wrote on X, “Fantastic win. Proud of the effort and spirit.” Babar, along with Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Sarfaraz Ahmed, were dropped for the final two games of the series. Many fans were quick to troll the former Pakistani skipper which didn’t sit down well with pace bowler Mohammed Amir.

The 32-year-old took to Twitter and wrote, “Yar pls yeah ghatia soch khatam karo k babar team me ni tha ya woh player ni tha to team jeet gayi .hum better planning k sath khaile home advantage liya or jeet gaye. pls personal na hn apne player's k sath yes performance base ap bat Karen but pls personal na hn”

Shan Masood calls win over England ‘important’ ahead of final Test

Skipper Shan Masood could finally breathe easy as his side ended the three-year wait for a Test win at home. Noman Ali’s 11 wickets and Sajid Khan’s 9 wickets finished off England’s hopes of a second successive series win in Pakistan.

Speaking at the end of the game, Masood said, “This was a very important win for Pakistan cricket. The recent results were unacceptable. There is relief. This is a long process and journey. It won't be fixed overnight. It's been three years and 10 months since we last won a Test at home. That's not acceptable for Pakistan cricket. We pride ourselves on how well we play this game and how we see ourselves as a team.”

The Pakistani Test cricket skipper also said, “For us to get a result and hopefully start something here in our conditions is exciting. Going through that adverse situation for years and still getting a result: that's the character you want from your players, staff and cricket board. Everyone's responded well after the [first Test] loss which is very heartening.”

Meanwhile, according to PTI, Mohammad Rizwan is likely to be named the new skipper for the ODI and T20I teams. One PCB source was quoted as saying, “The 3rd Test against England finishes on 28th October and the squad has to leave for Australia the next day so the selectors would be announcing the white ball squad by Sunday. Rizwan because of his seniority, his reliability as a player and because of his experience of leading teams well in domestic cricket and PSL is a frontrunner to be the white ball captain.”
