Former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir came up with a big statement while speaking about the recently announced hybrid model for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Amir spoke in length about the ICC’s decision to host the India vs Pakistan game on a neutral venue in the Champions Trophy 2025 and further ICC events.
Meanwhile, the Champions Trophy 2017 winner bowler also felt that the apex governing body of cricket’s response has been quite lazy in coming to a strong decision on the concern of the Champions Trophy. He also said that the ‘deadlock condition’ should have been given a solution a bit sooner.

The 32-year-old also expressed his views as a ‘cricketer’ on the potential India vs Pakistan contest in the Champions Trophy 2025.
“As a cricketer, I welcome this announcement of the India vs Pakistan match in the Champions Trophy in a neutral venue (as per the hybrid model). Even if this contest of India and Pakistan happens on the moon, fans will find a way,” said Amir in an exclusive interview with Cricket Predicta’s founder Sunil Yash Kalra.
“I welcome the fact that the match between India and Pakistan is taking place. The significance lies in the match itself, not the venue. I am happy, and I am sure all those who want to see this iconic clash will be happy,” he added later.
Furthermore, the former Pakistan international also expressed his disappointment with the way ICC has executed the things concerning some major international tournaments.
“They [ICC] have scheduled tournaments till 2031, so why did the work on the Champions Trophy 2025 only begin two months ago? ICC has acted very very lazy (over delays in dealing with the Champions Trophy). They should have gotten into the act to resolve this deadlock sooner since the calendar is set years in advance. It is necessary to have a match between India and Pakistan, everyone is waiting for the match between India and Pakistan.
