Meanwhile, the former Pakistan cricketer and now an expert Basit Ali has come up with a piece of advice for the young Indian batters, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill. The former Pakistan batter didn’t look happy with the early dismissals of both youngsters on the third day of the Brisbane Test.

Jaiswal and Gill shouldn't be thinking that even Kohli got out - Basit Ali

Basit Ali also used the example of Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and veteran batter Virat Kohli as a reference point for his advice for Jaiswal and Gill.

“Jaiswal and Gill shouldn't be thinking that even Kohli got out. They should see that he has already performed a lot. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have performed in the past. Jaiswal and Gill should be hungry for runs, which is missing,” said Basit Ali in a video on his YouTube channel.

“Unfortunately, Gill has no hunger at all. He just loves to play shots. Everything is tested in Test cricket. After scoring four runs off two balls, Yashasvi Jaiswal was caught out. In Test cricket, where time has to be spent and you need to reduce the hardness and shine of the ball, Shubman Gill was trying to chop the ball,” he added later.

Furthermore, Basit Ali also spoke about the possible result of the ongoing third Test between Australia and India. He also emphasized the role of India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir in reuniting the group and working on the errors to fix them as soon as possible.

“Only rain will be able to save India in this Test. Even if India lose this Test, it will help them regroup, and if it's a draw, it will also be beneficial. But Gautam Gambhir needs to make them sit together and get the tuning right,” he said.

“Forget what happened in Perth, focus on what's happening now. If the Indian batters and bowlers are thinking about the WTC final then they're being foolish. Take one match at a time in this series,” the 54-year-old concluded.
