Pakistan Cricket Board chief Mohsin Naqvi was addressing the media at the Gaddafi Stadium recently. One of the main questions asked if India will be taking part in the Champions Trophy 2025 to be held in Pakistan. There is still no clarity over India’s participation in the tournament next year.

Speaking to the media Mohsin Naqvi said, “We are ready to host Champions Trophy. All teams will come”. This has raised new hopes that perhaps India may after all tour Pakistan for the first time since 2008.

The PCB chief was also asked if he is set to meet Jay Shah as the latter is set to become the new ICC Chief. Mohsin Naqvi said, “I don’t think the details of his meeting have been decided yet.” The PCB chief himself is highly favored to become the new head of the Asian Cricket Council replacing Jay Shah.

Speaking to the media, Mohsin Naqvi also said, "I have full hope that the Indian team will come to play the Champions Trophy in Pakistan next year. There have been no indications to suggest that they would postpone or cancel their visit. All teams are expected to participate.”

"The Champions Trophy is a big opportunity for Pakistan cricket, and we are looking forward to welcoming teams from all around the world," the PCB chief further added while speaking to the media in Lahore.

If India refuses to travel, the tournament will be held in a Hybrid model like it was done during Asia Cup 2023. Pakistan are the current holder of the tournament having won it in 2017 as they beat India in the finals.

Former Pakistani star batter Zaheer Abbas urged the team India to visit the nation next year. The batting legend during a conclave said, "The Indian team should tour Pakistan, as it will promote cricket in the subcontinent, especially in Pakistan. Indian teams are great ambassadors of cricket. If they come and play in Pakistan, it will take cricket forward in our country."

Rajeev Shukla who happens to be the BCCI secretary had said that the final decision rests with the Indian government. According to Rajeev Shukla, the board will abide by whatever decision India’s government takes as far as the Champions Trophy is concerned.
