India's star bowler Jasprit Bumrah was seen in the stands of the Dubai International Stadium supporting the Indian team in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024. After a disappointing loss in the first game, skipper Rohit Sharma met the team in UAE and now it was Bumrah who marked his presence to extend his support to the team. The Indian team won the game against Pakistan by six wickets.

India were playing against the arch-rivals Pakistan in a highly anticipated match in the UAE and if we analyze the team's performance today, the bowling department did pretty well in dismantling the Pakistan team in 105 runs. They didnt allow the batters to settle in and go for huge hits in between the innings. Arundhati Reddy was the best bowler as she claimed three wickets. After her it was Shreyanka Patil who took two wickets and gave away just 12 runs.

India's batting was pretty decent as Smriti Mandhana was dismissed early letting Jemimah Rodrigues and Shafali Verma form a partnership. However, when both these players were out, the batting order started tumbling down a bit. In the end, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur played a captaincy innings and scored 29 runs off 24 balls and led India towards a much-needed victory. So the winning streak continues against Pakistan for the women's team, just like their male counterpart.

Is India's consistent batting failue is a sign of worry?

The first game against New Zealand wasn't a great start to the marquee event for the Indian women's team. They lost the match by a huge margin of 58 runs which was extremely disappointing. Even though the Kiwis set a target of some 10-15 runs extra, India didn't even go close to the total and hence, lost the much-needed NRR. This happened due to the failure in the batting order.

Even against Bangladesh, India won the game but didn't look in their best form. The batters struggled to pulled off a partnership which kept the flow of wickets going in the match. However, since the target was low, India won the game but it wasn't a comfortable win as it should have been. It's high time the women's team need to realise their worth and the hopes the entire country has on them and try to match the expectations.
