India did not have the best time in Australia in the 2025 ODI series, although they ended it on a high, winning the last ODI by 9 wickets. India will play a T20I series of five matches against Australia, before returning home for an all-format series against South Africa. Before the T20 World Cup 2026, India's focus will be on the 20-over format.

After the T20 World Cup 2026, the focus of all teams will shift towards the ODI World Cup 2027, which will be hosted in South Africa. India will hope to win the title for Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who will be playing possibly their last major tournament.

South Africa at home

India will host South Africa in an all-format series. The defending T20 World Cup champions will play a T20I series of 5 matches and an ODI series of 3 matches after hosting the WTC mace 2025 winners in a series of two Tests.

New Zealand at home

India's 2026 season will start with a limited-overs series against New Zealand. The 2025 Champions Trophy winners will play an ODI series of 3 matches and a T20I series of 5 matches right before the T20 World Cup 2026.

Afghanistan at home

India will play a limited-overs series against Afghanistan after the conclusion of the T20 World Cup 2026. The 2-time ODI World Cup winners will play a historic ODI series of 3 matches, which will be their first against Afghanistan.

England away from home

India will tour England for a limited-overs series against England in the middle of the 2026 season. As per the reports, India is set to play an ODI series of 3 matches against the 2019 World Cup winners.

Bangladesh away from home

India was supposed to play a limited-overs series against Bangladesh between the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 and the Asia Cup 2025. Unfortunately, it could not become a reality. However, India is scheduled to tour Bangladesh in 2026.

The West Indies at home

India last played the West Indies at home in a Limited-overs series back in 2022. The ODI series of 3 matches will be an important one for the West Indies to test some of its players before the qualification round of the ODI World Cup 2027.

New Zealand away from home

The only team against whom India is scheduled to play both at home and away from home in the next year is New Zealand. Ahead of the ODI World Cup 2027, India will tour New Zealand for an ODI series of 3 matches.

Sri Lanka at home

India is scheduled to play an ODI series of 3 matches at home against Sri Lanka before March 2027. As of the 2026/27 calendar, it is the only series India is scheduled to be a part of, unless there is an addition of a new series to their calendar.
