After an unbeaten partnership of 168*(170) for the second wicket between Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the Sydney ODI, Adam Gilchrist and Ravi Shastri interviewed the duo. Virat claimed to have loved playing in Australia and thanked the fans for coming in big numbers to watch them play.
"We've loved coming to this country, we've played some good cricket, thank you guys for coming in big numbers and supporting us," said Kohli to Adam Gilchrist, who wished the duo luck for their potential campaign in the ODI World Cup 2027.

Rohit Sharma praised the crowd and the pitch before claiming that he wanted to challenge himself as a batter. The former Indian skipper felt it was special playing cricket in Australia and in Sydney, in particular.
"Thank You, Australia. I love playing in Australia and Sydney, in general. It's a great ground, great crowd, great pitch as well. So, when you come to places like this, you want to challenge yourself as a batter, as a player. And that is what I expected. I never thought for one second that it was going to be easy. I love doing what I do. And I hope I continue to do that," said Rohit.

The duo of Virat and Rohit shone in the last match of the 2025 ODI series between India and Australia. While the former scored an unbeaten 74*(81), the latter played one of the best knocks of his career and scored an unbeaten 121*(125), which helped him win the Player of the Match and the Player of the Series Awards.
