Ajinkya Rahane opens world-class cricket academy and sports facility in Mumbai

Ajinkya Rahane is looking forward to starting his second innings as he has established a world-class cricket academy and sports facility in Mumbai. The Indian batter expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy CMs Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, and BCCI Treasurer Ashish Shelar for their immense support throughout the process. It was an important project for the star batter, and doing it alone wouldn't have been possible. 

"This academy will empower young sportspersons with top-notch facilities and guidance, fostering the next generation of champions in the city where my own cricketing journey began. Grateful for your encouragement & leadership, inspiring a brighter future for Maharashtra!" tweeted Ajinkya Rahane. 

Rahane opened this world-class cricket academy in Mumbai for the young budding cricketers who are interested in starting their careers in the sport. The right-handed batter hasn't revealed much information about the academy as it's completely new. However, the academy will have basic facilities like top-notch sports equipment, coaches, and opportunities. 

Ajinkya Rahane set to lead Mumbai in Irani Cup 2024

Ajinkya Rahane is set to lead Mumbai in the upcoming Irani Cup 2024. The tournament will take place in Lucknow, where Rahane will be the captain of the Mumbai team and play against the rest of India. It still starts on October 1 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium. Apart from the Indian team, Rahane has a good record in the domestic setup and has experience in captaincy.

Hence, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has given the responsibility of the team to Rahane, who will bring good results for the team.
