The latest ICC Men's T20I rankings are out, and India's young prodigy Abhishek Sharma has made a historic jump to reach the second position. Now, he is just one rank below his SRH teammate, Travis Head, who has sealed the first position for a long time.

Apart from him, Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav are in the third and fifth positions respectively in the rankings. It is good news for Team India that they have three batters in the top five positions after the conclusion of the England series. Abhishek scored a splendid century and a half-century in the series, while Varma scored a half-century. Overall, the batters performed decently in the T20I series, leading India to victory.

In the bowlers' rankings, India's mystery spinner Varun Chakaravarthy moved up three places to second position, tying with England's leggie Adil Rashid. Chakaravarthy claimed 14 wickets in five games against England. Additionally, he has been named in India's ODI squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against England. It looks like he is having the time of his life in the Indian team.

Arshdeep Singh is in form and his confidence is good: Sanjay Manjrekar

With the ODI series against England about to start on February 6, the Indian team will be worried about their star pacer Jasprit Bumrah's fitness ahead of the Champions Trophy. As a backup for the ace bowler, India have Arshdeep Singh, who is an excellent bowler with the new ball and has the perfect line and length in the middle overs as well. Hence, former cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar showed his confidence in him and urged the Indian management to introduce him to the ODI format as well.

"Arshdeep Singh is in form and his confidence is good. There is quality in bowling, and he gets the ball to seam and swing, a perfect time to introduce him in this [50-over format]. Don’t think of him only as a T20 bowler. A good opportunity for Arshdeep," said Sanjay Majrekar.
