Former English cricketer Michael Vaughan slammed Harry Brook for taking the spinners lightly in the recently concluded T20I series against India. Brook, who is one of the best English batters, got out against spinners while playing rough shots which weren't the need of the hour. While criticising the player, Vaughan wrote about his batting technique in his column in the Telegraph.

"Harry Brook is definitely part of that problem. Brook can clearly come good against spin. He has got the game and the gift to overcome anything. I just think he is too aggressive against spin. He almost disrespects it, and thinks he can just whack it out of the ground," said Michael Vaughan as quoted by The Telegraph.

England batters failed to read spin in all the five games which was disappointing. They had the chance to cease the series but lost it by 1-4. On the other hand, the Indian batters played really well, especially Abhishek Sharma who scored one half-century and a century in the series. The 3-match ODI series will start from February 6, in Nagpur. The players from both teams have arrived and will be looking forward to having a good series ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025.

I'd love him to watch Joe Root: Michael Vaughan

After the T20I series, Vaughan adviced Harry Brook to watch Joe Root's batting against spinners. The former player also said that if Brook will learn from Root's batting and implement it in his own game, he can be the next big thing for England.

"I’d love him to watch Joe Root, who is a master of going back, hitting into the leg side, nabbing a two, getting off strike. Sweeps and reverse sweeps to manoeuvre the field and create gaps. Do not just think boundary, boundary, boundary all the time. If Brook marries his own game with a bit of Root, he will be much better for it," added Vaughan.
