The high-intensity match no. 68 between the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL 2024 ended in a heartbreak for CSK as they were knocked out of the tournament with that one defeat. The match went on to a dramatic mode when the 5-time champion team were waiting to shake hands with the RCB players, but they were busy celebrating. Seeing this, MS Dhoni left the field, which sparked a lot of controversy regarding his behavior.
However, talking about one such incident, RCB's bowler Yash Dayal opened up about the intrusive thoughts he got after dismissing MS Dhoni. The game was extremely important for CSK, but Dhoni couldn't help them win, and when he got out, he showed frustration by walking straight back into the pavilion with a stern look on his face. Dayal was quite scared as thoughts of Dhoni's retirement kept coming to his mind after the dismissal.
On Jatin Sapru's YouTube show 'Roaring with the Lions', Dayal talked about these thoughts and how he felt bad after the wicket. However, he was fine after some time. That win helped RCB qualify for the playoffs but eventually they were knocked out of the eliminators. On the other hand, CSK finished fifth on the points table.
"I felt bad after dismissing him. Because I don't know or care what people say but the frustration with which he left the ground, it was like you don't know whether he will return or not. Will we ever see him again on the ground. It was a moment where a lot of things were going through my head," said Yash Dayal while talking to Jatin Sapru.

I remember each and everything of him: Yash Dayal
There's a reason why all the cricketers greatly respect and love former India skipper Virat Kohli, especially the youngsters. Kohli has always been at the forefront when it comes to motivating and advising the players. When Rinku Singh smashed five consecutive sixes off Yash Dayal during IPL 2023, he almost went into depression.
However, after RCB picked Dayal, Kohli had a heartfelt conversation with him and assured him that he'd be backed by the team, and that's why they brought him. Dayal revealed that the conversation helped him a lot and he remembers everything about it.
"He said what happened with Rinku was his part, but from there you don’t feel you are less. Then Kohli bhaiya told his stories and connected with me; that 5 minutes became 15-20 minutes. I remember each and everything of him. He told me that we (RCB) will back you the whole season; that is why we picked you," Dayal added.
