Ahead of the Bangladesh series, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a short clip of a special interview of Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir having cheeky conversations about their relationship on and off the field. Kohli started the conversation by saying, "Here we are together, putting an end to all the masala and spice." To which, Gambhir laughingly responded, 'That's a good way to start the conversation.'

From sharing the field together for India to playing against each other in the IPL to now sharing the dressing room again, the legendary batters have certainly come a long way. The Delhi boys have the same characteristics when it comes to on-field appearance, but off the field, they are quite calm and chilled. While the audience enjoys the drama through their fights in IPL, seeing them together in the Indian jersey makes every Indian proud. During the interview, Kohli and Gambhir talked a lot about their past matches and asked some thought-provoking and insightful questions which were quite interesting.

Kohli also asked Gambhir about the sledging that goes on during the game, to which the Indian Cricket team head coach gave a cheeky answer. Kohli asked, "But when you're batting and you have a bit of a chat with the opposition, did you ever feel like this might carry on to you going out of the zone and you potentially getting out or it put you in a more motivated space?"

Gambhir laughed and replied, "You had more altercations than I have. You can answer that question better than I can." This answer showed the camaraderie between the players along with their fun side. Now the cricket world knows whatever happens on the ground doesn't spoil the relationship between the players.

Donning the jerseys of respective teams brings in a lot of responsibility, which keeps the players on their toes most of the time. However, Gambhir and Kohli's friendship goes a long way back when they played together for Delhi in domestic tournaments. Hence, they are quite aware of each other's nature and leave the drama on the field.

I remember when you had that bumper series on Australia: Gautam Gambhir

During the conversation, Gautam Gambhir heaped praises on Virat Kohli's batting performance during the ODI World Cup 2011 and the 2014 Australia series where the former skipper scored tons of runs. Every cricket fan will remember the series because of Kohli's rise in Indian cricket. The way he pushed the Australian bowling attack on their backfoot was never an easy job. Gambhir related with his performance in Napier against New Zealand and gave beautiful insights.

"I remember when you had that bumper series on Australia where you scored heaps and heaps of runs and that got you in touch zone. And for me, it was exactly the same when I played in Napier. And if I look back, can I bat for another two and a half days? I don’t think so. I could have ever done that again. And I have never been in that zone ever in my life after that. So, I can imagine how good that feeling is to be in that zone," added Gambhir.
