'A great victory in last home game'- Fans react as Delhi Capitals beat Lucknow SuperGiants by 19 runs in IPL 2024

The Indian Premier League(IPL) is currently at the business end and we have already seen some great matches unfold this season. So far, only the two teams have fixed their position in the playoffs and it has been one of the most dramatic tournaments as usual. The race for the last two spots will still be on with 5 teams still in the mix. There are still some matches to go which will be the deciding factor of the tournament.

The match was one of the most important matches for both teams was between the Delhi Capitals(DC) and the Lucknow SuperGiants(LSG). Both these teams were competing at the Kotla to keep their chances alive in the playoffs. The toss went in Lucknow's favour and they chose to bowl first. This was also the battle between Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul who are one of the biggest talents in Indian cricket as well.

Delhi win last home game

The match started in the most attacking fashion with the Capitals completely going after the Lucknow SuperGiants bowlers. After the early wicket Of Jake Fraser McGurk, the DC batters were in total control of the match. The two half-centuries from Abhishek Porel and Tristan Stubbs with some handy cameos from Shai Hope and skipper Rishabh Pant made sure DC got to a massive total of 208 in the end. This was surely going to be a tough chase for LSG and they needed great performances from their batters in the second innings.

Unfortunately, the second innings did not go as planned for the SuperGiants as they lost half their side on a score of 71. It was always going to be tough for them to make a comeback. The knock of Nicholas Pooran and Arshad Khan did get them back into the game, but in the end, the Capitals kept their nerve and went on to win their last game at the Kotla by 19 runs. Though it was not a big win for the Capitals that could have helped their chances to qualify even more, It is still a great win in the last game of their season. The franchise can now only rely on the outside forces to help them qualify whereas Lucknow will have to win big against the Mumbai Indians in their last game.
