Pakistan cricket star Babar Azam silenced his critics with some brutal hitting during the Champions One-Day Cup game on Sunday. The 29-year-old smashed Pakistan pace bowler Shahnawaz Dahani for five fours in 5 balls. Babar Azam scored 45 but couldn’t help his side falling from a huge loss.

The incident happened in the 8th over of the innings as Dahani began with a dot ball. The second ball was pulled for a four. This was followed by a dab to the third for the 2nd four of the over. The third boundary was a wild slashed cut over the point region. Dahani then saw Azam cut the ball through point for yet another boundary.

The final four of the over was yet another ferocious pull over the top as the ball sped to the fence. That was the only over Dahani bowled for his team as he was pulled out of the attack by Mohammad Rizwan.

Markhors beat Stallions by 126 runs

It was Mohammad Rizwan who won the toss and chose to bat first as his team were all out for 231 in 45 overs. Iftikhar Ahmed was the top scorer with 60 while Salman Agha posted 51 as Rizwan himself scored 33.

In reply the Stallions were bowled out for 126 thanks to veteran spinner Zahid Mahmood who picked 5/18 from 4.4 overs. Babar Azam’s 45 was the best score for the Stallions while Shan Masood was the only other batter to reach double figures with 19 runs.

Shahanawaz took to X and posted about the thrahing he got from the blade of Babar Azam. The Pakistani pacer wrote "Just cannot stop watching this again and again. Don't think I would be able to sleep tonight. I just cannot understand, how Babar made it look so easy"

Meanwhile, former Pakistan batter Basit Ali has urged PCB to appoint Rizwan as the skipper of the side in the white ball format. Basit Ali was impressed with the way Rizwan has led the side during the Champions Cup tournament.

Basit Ali while addressing the fans on his YouTube Channel said "The way Rizwan led the side, he proved there is no better skipper than him. He has shown it with his captaincy. He read the pitch; it is a big thing. Even Babar can't do that. I am not even talking about Shan. If you don't make him captain at this time, then it is a loss for Pakistan. This is the best time you should make Rizwan the captain”
