The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season will witness Chennai Super Kings(CSK) host Delhi Capitals (DC) in the first match of the Saturday double-header. Ahead of the 17th match in the IPL 2025 season, Chennai are currently eighth in the table with two points from three games, with just one win to show for.

Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, are joint top of the table with four points from two games. Along with Punjab Kings, DC are the only side to stay unbeaten so far this campaign. There are numerous players who have played for both sides in the IPL which including current and former stars.
One of the notable players to have been part of both CSK and DC as a player is none other than Ashish Nehra. The left-arm seamer enjoyed a memorable stint with CSK towards the backend of his career that also saw Nehra get his spot back in the Indian team. Vijay Shankar, who is part of the CSK set-up this season, has played a few games for Delhi Capitals early in his career.

3. Mohit Sharma

Veteran seamer Mohit Sharma made his IPL debut in 2013 with the Chennai Super Kings. Mohit played 47 games for CSK and picked 57 wickets before being released at the end of the 2015 season. The former Indian pacer then went to Punjab Kings, where he spent three seasons playing 37 games and taking 33 wickets. The veteran seamer made his return to CSK in 2019, where he got to play just one game. In 2020, Mohit played for DC, where he picked a single wicket from his only appearance in the season. After two seasons with Gujarat, where Mohit picked 40 wickets from 26 games, the veteran seamer is back with Delhi for the IPL 2025 season. So far, Mohit has played two games and picked one wicket.
2. Ravichandran Ashwin

Former Indian spinner R. Ashwin is back home to Chennai after a decade away and playing for the other side. Ashwin began his IPL career with CSK in 2009 and picked 88 wickets from the first 97 matches with Chennai. Ashwin then had stints with Rising Pune Super Giants and Punjab Kings for a few seasons. The off-spinner then played two seasons for Delhi Capitals, where he managed to pick just 20 wickets from 28 matches before heading out to Rajasthan for two seasons. In the IPL 2025 season, Ashwin has managed to bag three wickets from three games and will look to play a key role against his former side.

Veteran batter and former South African skipper Faf du Plessis got his first IPL break with CSK in the 2012 season. The right-handed batter went onto become a local favorite and played 92 matches and scored 2721 runs with 20 half-centuries with an average of 35. In the last few seasons, Faf du Plessis has played and captained Royal Challengers Bengaluru before making his move to DC. During his time with RCB, du Plessis played 45 games scoring 1636 runs with an average of 38 and hit 15 fifties. So far, in his two games for DC, the former Proteas skipper has scored 79 runs which also includes a half-century.
