Recently, Barack Obama, the executive producer of the new Netflix documentary series Starting 5, shared his own ranking of the best NBA players. A glimpse inside the off-court life of five of the biggest players in the NBA is provided by Starting 5. Along with never-before-seen film of these five NBA superstars during the regular season and playoffs, Starting 5 also features audio and in-game analysis from players, coaches, and other NBA staff members that has never been released before.

The former president uploaded a video to his social media accounts announcing the five players he would pick for his squad as part of the series' promotional efforts. President Obama's first pick was Michael Jordan. Then, he selected Los Angeles Lakers player LeBron James, making it clear that he wanted James to be the team's point forward. He still wanted a natural point guard, though, and the Golden State Warriors' Stephen Curry fit the bill. His frontcourt was completed by Phoenix Suns player Kevin Durant and Houston Rockets player Hakeem Olajuwon.

Watch here the video:

Michael Jordan's reign as the greatest NBA player

Obama believed Olajuwon would be a fantastic player in the modern game, thus his acquisition was the most surprising. During his career, the two-time NBA Finals MVP was unquestionably strong, averaging 21.8 points, 11.1 rebounds, and 3.1 blocks. There's a reason why younger players went to him for help on honing their post-game tactics.

Michael Jordan's reign as the greatest NBA player of all time is probably all but assured to be challenged by James. The consensus is that Jordan is the best player of all time. Curry, the all-time great shooter, changed the game with his long-range shooting. Nonetheless, Durant is an offensive wizard who shown during his time with the Warriors that he could fit in with a group of players who were among the league's top scorers.
