The Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James are being careful as the NBA regular season draws near. The 39-year-old Lakers legend, who is currently in his 22nd season and is tied with Vince Carter in most seasons, will not play in Friday's last preseason game against the Golden State Warriors. James will be refreshed and prepared months ahead, thanks to this transfer just before the regular season begins. James was previously excluded from Thursday's preseason game against the Phoenix Suns.

LeBron James did not play in the final preseason game, prioritizing recovery and getting ready for the opening clash with the Minnesota Timberwolves next week. With James' absence, fans will be eagerly watching how the Lakers adjust to the star forward's limited preseason action. LeBron remained on the bench and was in full coaching mode. Throughout the game, he was guiding his son Bronny James.

Watch here the video:

Although LeBron James hasn't played more minutes during the preseason, he has displayed glimpses of his trademark genius. James scored an impressive 57.1% of his points from outside the arc and averaged 12 points on 46.9% shooting throughout three games. Along with helping the Lakers assess their lineup and establish the tone for the season, he also averaged 4.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 3.0 turnovers per game. Even though L.A. had a 1-2 preseason record, James' presence was sufficient to highlight the team's potential.

More people have taken notice of Bronny than any other player who was chosen with the 55th pick in the NBA Draft. Bronny also had a great game against the Phoenix Suns, scoring four points on two of four shots and pulling down four rebounds in Thursday's 128-122 overtime triumph. Despite his poor preseason performance, it is reasonable to believe that the 19-year-old will play a significant amount of time in the G League with the South Bay Lakers. For Bronny, this is probably nothing new because his father has certainly given him a lot of advice during his basketball career, but tonight was a little different.

Before the Los Angeles Lakers' regular game Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday, James will have a full week for his recovery thanks to his decision to take it easy before the season opening. LeBron is starting his 22nd season, and the Lakers are still focused on controlling his minutes to keep him playing at his best all season long. Fans of the Lakers can anticipate seeing their star new and prepared for a possible championship run.
