When LeBron James and Stephen Curry eventually teamed up during the Olympics in Paris, the NBA's top scorer took home more than just a gold medal. In the following years of competing against each other in the NBA Finals, LeBron James and Stephen Curry joined forces this summer to help Team USA capture the gold medal at the Olympics in Paris. Whether they will ever be teammates again is the question.
LeBron James remarked on Monday, just before Los Angeles left for two preseason games against Curry's Golden State Warriors this week, that "It was everything and more. I was ecstatic to be able to collaborate with him in a win-or-die situation at last," James continued.
"I was super excited to be able to finally team up with him in a win-or-die type atmosphere," James added. "That's what it was, being a part of the Olympics. It was everything that I dreamed of and aspired to want, to be a part of that team, along with Steph. Great memories. Something that I'll remember from my basketball career for the rest of my life, for sure."
When asked if he could ever see himself playing alongside Curry again, James didn't brush it off. They have a history of playing against each other, and James and Stephen Curry are perhaps the greatest players of their time. "I have no idea," he said.
LeBron James and Stephen Curry helped USA to win gold
Before both veterans were instrumental in the U.S. victory at the Olympics in Paris, they had never been teammates outside of NBA All-Star games. When the United States defeated Serbia in the semifinals, James posted a triple-double against Nikola Jokic, and Curry's flurry of late 3-pointers sealed the gold medal for France.
