Indiana Fever defeated Dallas Wings 100-93 on Sunday despite a record-tying nine 3-pointers from Arike Ogunbowale, led by 28 points and 12 assists from Caitlin Clark. After defeating the Chicago Sky and fellow rookie of the year candidate Angel Reese, Clark scored a career-high 31 points.

In her first regular season game in Texas, a 101-93 defeat to Indiana while the Fever were just outside the playoff picture, she established a record for the most assists in the WNBA. This game took place before the Olympic break. In a game between two teams who came in with identical three-game winning streaks, Kelsey Mitchell scored 36 points, including a three-pointer that put the Fever ahead by four points with 1:58 left.

In every game they have played in August, the Fever's backcourt tandem of Kelsey Mitchell and Caitlin Clark has been outstanding. Caitlin Clark earned her first WNBA Player of the Week honor on their route to a 5-1 record, and Mitchell topped the league in scoring.

After Dallas missed, Clark snatched up a rebound to begin dribbling down the floor only two minutes into the game. Mitchell was then the recipient of a flawless full-court bounce pass from the former Lowa Hawkeye. Following a steal of the ball under her basket, Kelsey Mitchell quickly found forward NaLyssa Smith for a simple layup by dribbling the ball behind her and around a defender. WNBA fans used Social media to express their amazement at this Fever sequence and their emotions.

With 39 seconds left, Mitchell made two more free throws following her game-winning three, and the Fever led 99-91 after eight consecutive points.  For the Wings, Natasha Howard finished with 18 points and nine assists, while Satou Sabally scored 25 points. For Indiana Fever, NaLyssa Smith finished with 14 points and 8 rebounds.
