NCAA Women Championship: South Carolina wins the NCAA title by defeating Lowa Hawkeyes 87-75

On Sunday Kamilla Cardoso scored 15 points and a career-high 17 rebounds as South Carolina put an end to the season by winning over Caitlin Clark and Lowa Hawkeyes to win the final match 87-75.

On Sunday Kamilla Cardoso scored 15 points and a career-high 17 rebounds as South Carolina put an end to the season by winning over Caitlin Clark and Lowa Hawkeyes to win the final match 87-75.

As per AP News, “When young people lock in and have a belief, and have a trust, and their parents have that same trust, this is what can happen,” Staley said. “They made history. They etched their names in the history books.”

While Caitlin Clark tried everything to win the Lowa Hawkeyes their first title. In the first quarter of the match, he scored 18 points out of 30 points overall. She shattered the record books at Lowa Hawkeyes as she scored 3951 points to become the leading scorer in NCCA Division I career.

She believes her legacy is defined by the millions of new fans she helped bring into the game, as well as the many young girls and boys she inspired, rather than her failure to win two NCAA championships.

As per AP News, “I think the biggest thing is it’s really hard to win these things, I think I know that better than most people by now, to be so close twice really hurts,” Clark said.

South Carolina had a good run in the tournament

On the other hand, In the last eight years, South Carolina now has won three titles. Head coach Staley became the fifth coach to win three national championships and joined the elite list of Pat Summitt, Kim Mulkey, Geno Auriemma, and Tara VanDerveer.

South Carolina has won 109 games out of 112 games as they become the first team to go undefeated. During the whole South Carolina has had some tough times but managed to win the games. As the game went to the second quarter South Carolina was leading 46-44 and was on an 11-0 run. Meanwhile, Caitlin Clark stood up and stopped their run as Lowa Hawkeyes cut the gap by getting close 59-55, but Hannah Stuelke missed a wide-open layup after a great steal from Clark.
