Caitlin Clark is facing the Atlanta Dream for the third time this season. The Fever (13-16) had won their past two games convincingly, with Clark maintaining her strong campaign for the WNBA Rookie of the Year award. As a rising star in the league, she averages 17.9 points, 8.3 assists, and 5.7 rebounds per game.

Caitlin Clark seemed to injure her ankle during Monday's game between the Indiana Fever and the Atlanta Dream. Clark was only seven minutes into the game when she appeared to twist her left ankle while attempting to get past the screen. She quickly collapsed on the floor and yelled in agony.

Clark remained on the floor, holding her left ankle. Training personnel arrived on the court to assist her, but she went to the Fever bench on her own. She was getting her ankle checked on the bench during a timeout and when play restarted.

Watch here the video:

Clark did not go to the locker room and stayed on the bench after the quarter finished. The injury did not appear to be significant, as she returned to the game at the start of the second quarter and scored on Indiana Fever first possession.

Caitlin Clark returned back in second quarter

The Fever are presently ranked seventh in the WNBA, which would secure their first postseason appearance in eight seasons. The rookie leads the league in assists with an 8.3 average and has already reached 200 assists, making her the only player in WNBA history to do so.

Despite looking to be in a lot of pain after rolling her ankle, Clark was able to leave the court by herself. She went off for treatment on the end of the bench during the first quarter of the game, but she came back at the start of the second. She indicated that her ankle had been re-taped and that she was prepared to return by taking off her shoe and sock. She contributed eight points, four rebounds, and three assists to the Fever's 52-38 over Atlanta Dream halftime advantage.
