Tyrese Haliburton gave Caitlin Clark a lot of appreciation on social media while attending Indiana Fever game

On Friday night, the Indiana Fever overcame a furious comeback by the Phoenix Mercury in the second half, led by 28 points by Kelsey Mitchell, and a quick start by Caitlin Clark, who ended with 29 points and 10 assists. The win was crucial. 

As Indiana Fever welcomed the resumption of the WNBA season by adding another dimension to the developing rivalry between Clark and three-time league champion Diana Taurasi, Mitchell hit six 3-pointers and Caitlin Clark had four in the first game after the Olympic break.

Meanwhile Friday night, one Indiana basketball icon paid tribute to another at their shared stadium. Tyrese Haliburton, the Indiana Pacers' superstar, attended Friday night's Indiana Fever game against the Phoenix Mercury, in which rookie sensation Caitlin Clark had one of her greatest starts of the season.

Haliburton wanted everyone to know what he was witnessing during Friday's game, so he tweeted while he was there: "Hope y'all see what 22 doin' at Gainbridge." That is a fantastic way for Haliburton to present Clark with flowers as the two aim to usher in a new era of good Indiana basketball in the NBA and WNBA.

Indiana Fever comes at seventh poisiton in WNBA

Indiana Fever began the second half of the season on a high note, defeating the Phoenix Mercury 98-89 thanks to a solid effort by Clark. The outstanding rookie ended with 29 points, 10 assists, and five rebounds. Kelsey Mitchell also scored 28 points in the victory. Clark did not skip a beat following the long break, scoring 16 points in the first eight minutes of play. 

The Fever's current season record is 12–15, and they continue to hold their steady seventh-place placement in the WNBA. After winning just 13 games overall, Indiana is presently just one win away from tying their season-long win total. In the race for Rookie of the Year, Clark wants to keep driving the Fever to success and extend her lead.
