On Saturday night, Bronny James, a rookie with the Los Angeles Lakers, reached a significant career milestone. The 20-year-old made his much-awaited NBA G League debut against the Salt Lake City Stars after being sent down to the South Bay Lakers lately.
It should come as no surprise that the stars turned out to cheer Bronny James on in his maiden South Bay game. Among them were his father, LeBron James, his wife, Savannah James, and their daughter, Zuri James, age ten. Lakers star big man Anthony Davis, who just had a huge 31-point, nine-rebound outburst in Friday's 116-106 victory against the Philadelphia 76ers, joined LeBron.
LeBron James, sporting a red cap, is seated beside Davis as he takes a courtside seat next to Savannah and Zuri in the video above. Bronny's grandmother and LeBron's mother, Gloria James, are both present for the game. Another image that has gone viral on social media shows D'Angelo Russell and Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka taking in the action.

Los Angeles Lakers sent Bronny James to the G League to get game time
The sold-out audience, who was mostly there to watch James play, cheered him on as he drew up from mid-range and drained his shot neatly. Bronny finished the first half of South Bay's season opener against the Salt Lake City Stars with four points, two rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one blocked shot while shooting two out of six from the field.
In order to give Bronny some much-needed playing time during his rookie season, the Lakers sent him to the G League. In five NBA games this season, the former USC standout has only averaged 2.8 minutes per game. Bronny now has the opportunity to establish himself in the G League, where he will aim to influence South Bay and contribute to their victories. His teammates and family are providing him with all the assistance he requires right now.
