Although LeBron James just reached a personal milestone by joining his son Bronny James in the National Basketball Association (NBA), the young guard hasn't had much playing time thus far. The Los Angeles Lakers have chosen to send Bronny to the South Bay Lakers, their G League club, for a more concentrated training session to help him grow and get more experience. The goal of the move is to better position him for a potential NBA comeback.
After a five-game road trip in which they only managed one victory, the Los Angeles Lakers have had a difficult run lately. The club is hoping to get back into their groove with the help of home fans, and Bronny's possible participation in the game against the 76ers would present the perfect chance for him to get additional playing time.
He just played three minutes and pulled down one rebound in his NBA debut against the Minnesota Timberwolves. In five minutes of action during his second appearance against the Cleveland Cavaliers, he grabbed one rebound, contributed two assists, and scored his first two NBA points. He most recently helped the Lakers defeat the Memphis Grizzlies by scoring two points.
Why Bronny James is going to G League
Bronny needs this assignment because the Lakers' depth and competitive squad will allow him to get the court minutes he has been missing. He will have the opportunity to hone his abilities, build his self-esteem, and become a more influential player by participating in the G League. Despite playing in three of the Lakers' first eight games this season, Bronny James hasn't done much.
