Aliyah Boston, a standout for the Indiana Fever, was penalized for a flagrant foul on Monday against the Atlanta Dream. Allisha Gray was Boston's guard on the post during the game's third quarter. When Tina Charles entered the game to double-team the Fever centre, Boston was starting to back down.

Boston tried to exploit her height advantage over Gray to go through the gap before Charles could completely commit to the double team. She grabbed the ball and tore through it, landing in Gray's face. After seeing it on the monitor, the officials raised the action from a common foul to a flagrant foul.

Aliyah Boston immediately confronted the officials, telling the referee, "No, it was not," after the egregious penalty was called. While the 22-year-old's action did not appear purposeful, she was punished for the penalty since the shot was over her shoulders.
