Center for the Las Vegas Aces A'ja Wilson had won the coveted MVP title in the WNBA. After an incredible 2024 WNBA season, she grabbed the chance to show her teammates how much she appreciated them and how she felt. Her outstanding performance was really one of a kind. She scored an incredible 26.9 points per game to lead the league and established new marks and rebounds in a single season.

A'ja Wilson was a worthy winner of the MVP award given her incredible accomplishments in the league. In a touching moment caught on camera and posted by Las Vegas Aces, Wilson thanked her teammates deeply, recognizing their crucial contribution to her achievements. Her speech was powerful as it was struck a deep chord, full with emotion. She said that the title meant nothing without her teammates' continuous support and how much they meant to her. Addition to her prior honors from 2020 and 2022, Wilson's third WNBA MVP title. Wilson received a staggering 67 first-place votes, demonstrating the enormous support of voters in favor of his victory.

During her speech, A'ja Wilson said, “I cannot thank you all enough. I hope you guys understand how much you mean to me. I hope you guys know that this trophy is nothing without y’all. We’ve been through the ringer – and we gon’ continue to go through the ringer – but one thing y’all don’t ever have to worry about is A’ja going anywhere."

Las Vegas Aces won Game 1 of WNBA Playoffs

Among the competitors, Minnesota Lynx rookie star Napheesa Collier took second place. Indiana Fever rookie standout Caitlin Clark made history by placing fourth and breaking into the top five MVP voting. Wilson overcame a poor start to lead her side to a vital Game 1 victory against the Seattle Storm, displaying prime MVP form. 

Wilson had a disappointing first half, scoring only four points on one of her eight shots. However, in the second half, she held her ground and finished with 21 points, eight rebounds, and five blocks. Guard Tiffany Hayes had an incredible effort off the bench, scoring 20 points on 8 of 12 shots, including a crucial 12-point surge in the second quarter, to go along with her outstanding performance. In order to continue their run at playoff glory, the Aces, who are going for a remarkable third straight WNBA title, will want to capitalize on this momentum in Game 2.
