New York Liberty continued their domination in the WNBA 2024 season. The table toppers beat the Los Angeles Sparks convincingly by 103-68 and became the first team to enter the playoffs. A great show from the trio of Breanna Stewart, Nyara Sabally, and Sabrina Lonescu ensured that New York dominantly won the game. Right from the word go, Liberty dominated the game.
The first and second quarter of the match nearly sealed the game for New York Liberty. In the first quarter, Liberty took a massive lead of 29-10. They followed it up with a brilliant second quarter where they claimed 28-18. After the end of the first half, New York had a lead of 57-28 over Los Angeles Sparks, a point more than the double that was scored by the latter.

By then, the game was nearly done for the Sparks. While they put up a better performance in the second half, it was not going to be enough. Even in the third and fourth quarters, New York had the advantage over Sparks. In the 3rd quarter, Liberty led Sparks with a score of 25-20. In the fourth quarter, Sparks trailed 20-21 which happened to be the closest they got to the WNBA table toppers in a quarter.

Breanna Stewart put on a show as she averaged 27 points, claimed 4 points on rebounds, and helped in 2 assists. Nyara Sabally was good on rebounds where she claimed 9 points. While she averaged 6 points, her 3 assists were handy for New York. Sabrina Ionescu played a key role with her assists. She averaged 18 points and claimed 4 points on rebounds with 6 points on assists.
For Sparks, Rae Burrell and Dearica Hamby had decent outings. Rae averaged 15 points and claimed 2 points on rebounds and assisted Sparks with 3 points. Hamby was good with an average of 14 points and incredible scoring through rebounds where she claimed 13 points. She was helpful with 5 assists but could not win the match for her side.
