NCAA Women Championship: Lowa Hawkeye and Caitlin Clark heads on to national title game to face South Carolina

The Lowa Hawkeyes superstar Caitlin Clark will play her last game in the NCAA national championship. On Friday night Lowa Hawkeyes defeated UConn 71-69 in the Final Four game.

The Lowa Hawkeyes superstar Caitlin Clark will play her last game in the NCAA national championship. On Friday night Lowa Hawkeyes defeated UConn 71-69 in the Final Four game. In 2023 both Caitlin Clark and Lowa Hawkeyes fell short in the final as they lost the title to LSU Tigers and Angel Reese 102-85. This time she is expected to, end her college career by winning the trophy and giving Lowa Hawkeyes their first nation title. 

In the game, she got a slow start and was not able to give a good performance in the first half as she finished with only 21 points. While her teammate Hannah Stuelke scored a game-high 23 points. During the first half, Caitlin Clark missed a three-point shot as she scored only 6 points from the first two quarters. 

As the game went into halftime UConn were leading 32-26. But by the end of the third quarter were tied at 51-51. As the game went into last quarter with only 49 seconds left Nika Muhl of UConn scored a three-pointer as they cut the gap by 70-69. In 9.3 seconds left in the game, KK Arnold stole the ball but a foul on Aaliyah Edwards gave the ball back to Lowa Hawkeyes.

The final game will take place on Sunday

With 3.1 seconds left, Bueckers fouled Caitlin Clark as a free throw was offered. In her first free throw, she made 71-61 but missed the second. As Lowa Hawkeyes won the match they will face South Carolina who went undefeated. The final will be held on Sunday at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, Ohio. It’s the last chance for Caitlin Clark to win the trophy as she is going to join the WNBA and has already been drafted.
