Jaylen Brown is a player that has faced a lot of criticism his whole life. One of the most significant occurred before he even set foot into the NBA. Brown's high school teacher predicted that he would be in jail within five years. Brown shared this statement on Twitter in 2014.

"My teacher said she will look me up in the Cobb County jail in 5 years .. Wow."

It's safe to say Brown defied his teacher's forecast. He is not only a professional basketball player, but he has also reached the peak of basketball accomplishment by being an NBA Champion and Finals MVP.

Jaylen Brown went to Joseph Wheeler High School in Marietta, GA. This is where one of his teachers made a bizarre prediction regarding his future. Despite his initial surprise, Brown did not let these nasty words get him down.

Jaylen Brown's path to NBA fame was not without hurdles. When Boston chose Brown third overall in the 2016 NBA Draft, Celtics supporters were seen thrusting their hands in their faces, apparently upset with the selection.

When Brown was picked, Boston Celtics season ticket holders at a draft viewing party booed. It wasn't only fans who were disappointed with the Celtics' choices. The Washington Post published a story titled "Celtics selected one potential bust after another at the 2016 NBA Draft."

Jaylen Brown disproved Barry and everyone who doubted him

Things became worse for Brown when the Celtics coaching staff didn't believe in him during the 2018-19 season, relegating him to the bench at one point. Fans frequently ridicule Brown's playing, stating he has no left hand.

These same supporters criticized Brown's record-breaking contract for $304 million over five years. Most people thought Brown didn't deserve such a contract because he hadn't won a big award at the time he signed it. One of Brown's detractors for signing the unprecedented contract was none other than NBA icon Rick Barry.

This postseason, Brown disproved Barry and everyone who doubted him. In order to help Boston advance to the NBA Finals, Brown first won the MVP Award for the Eastern Conference Finals. Head coach Jason Kidd of the Dallas Mavericks gave Brown great marks during the Finals.
