LeBron James shares his thoughts on his son Bronny James' performance in the NBA Summer League

On Wednesday, July 17, Bronny James triumphed in his first-ever professional match against the Los Angeles Lakers. The rookie player in the Summer League ended the game with 12 points after making a 17-foot pull-up jumper. LeBron James, the son's father, offered some thoughts on his son's outstanding play just a few days after his outstanding performance. 

LeBron James is now in Paris for the Olympics. But he did take some time to evaluate his son's performance in the Summer League in Las Vegas. Praise for his son, he emphasises that Bronny James is loved by the family. He said that the 19-year-old athlete maintains his concentration on his work. 

As per Pink Villa, The four-time NBA Champion said, as quoted by LA Sports Hub, “As a family, obviously we’re just proud of the fact that he’s even at this point...I mean, he’s 19 years old, so he has so much room to grow. He has so much more to learn, but the best thing is he keeps his head down and just stays focused.”

Shaquille O'Neal supports Bronny James

Bronny James was just selected by the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round, 55th overall. He performed admirably in the Lakers' recent 87-86 victory over the Atlanta Hawks. It should be remembered that Bronny has already faced criticism from sports fans online. Nonetheless, James has always backed him, having endured criticism himself from an early age. Shaquille O'Neal recently gave his thoughts on the subject and recommended the youngster stay focused on his profession.

In an interview with ESPN, the former basketball player revealed that Bronny is his nephew and that he is overjoyed for him. Furthermore, Shaquille O'Neal advised Bronny to ignore all of the hostility that was around him. Finally, he told the Lakers youngster to work hard and be focused. Bronny James' next Summer League game will be against the Chicago Bulls on July 21, 2024.
