LeBron James, the oldest player in NBA history to be named a greatest of all time, has the fantastic chance to lead the team to victory as the countdown to the Paris Olympics gets underway. His current endeavour, which has been generating headlines, is adding an intriguing chapter to his illustrious career. James is focusing on a new objective: securing a third Olympic gold medal, as his time in the NBA may be coming to an end.

At 39, the greatest player of all time LeBron James remains a strong presence on the floor, and his attention has shifted from the NBA to the international scene. Despite his several historical events and awards, James is anxious to add another accomplishment to his amazing resume. Recently, a viral exchange with a former teammate revealed James' ultimate goal for the Paris Olympics, which may surprise you.

While some fans predict that this will be LeBron James' final Olympics, his recent two-year contract agreement with Los Angeles Lakers suggests otherwise. However, neither James nor his close companions have officially confirmed that this will be his final Olympic performance.

As per Pink Villa, on 23rd July NBA on ESPN X (formerly Twitter) added a new post where Kendrick Perkins, a former teammate of James said, “If LeBron James can get one up on [Michael Jordan] in that category, you best believe he's going to do everything in his power to do that."

James is pursuing a third Olympic gold medal, but it's more than simply a trophy chase; it's a calculated effort to support his claim to be the best basketball player of all time. Former teammate Kendrick Perkins has brought attention to this goal, stating that James is committed to surpassing Michael Jordan in one particular area of his career.

Paris Olympics important for LeBron James

The 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris may prove to be crucial. James has demonstrated in his last appearances with Team USA that he is a leader. Against South Sudan and Germany, he performed exceptionally well in the previous stages of the exhibition games, scoring 45 points at pivotal times. James already has two gold medals, but he would surpass Jordan who also has two gold medals if he won a third.

Meanwhile, Kevin Durant is also in contention for a huge milestone. Durant, who is out with a calf injury, may win his fourth gold medal if Team USA wins in Paris, breaking the record for the most Olympic gold medals in US men's basketball history.
