Kevin Durant returns to practice with US basketball team just a week before Paris Olympics

Basketball: On Friday Kevin Durant returned to practice with the U.S. Olympics after getting recovered from a calf injury. He is back with the team just one week ahead of the Paris Olympics he is back on the floor.

On Friday Kevin Durant returned to practice with the U.S Olympic after getting recovered from a calf injury. He is back with the team just one week ahead of the Paris Olympics he is back on the floor. This is the first for Kevin Durant has been back in playing this summer. During the training camp in Las Vegas on July 6 he was not able due to a calf injury which caused him to miss the three exhibition games for the team.

As per AP News, “I’ve seen progress every day,” Durant told reporters before practice in London, where the U.S. will play South Sudan on Saturday and Germany on Monday in its final two tune-ups before the Olympics. “It’s one of those things. Just got to monitor it every day. I’ll see how I feel after I do certain exercises. My thing is to keep running and see what happens.”

Team US started their practice for the Olympics on a good note as they defeated Canada in Las Vegas and Serbia and Australia in Abu Dhabi in warm-up games. Kevin Durant has scored 435 points in the Olympics so far.

“More firepower, more leadership, more experience in the FIBA game,” three-time Olympic medalist LeBron James said. “We welcome his return. We’re looking forward to him being back out there. … Anytime we can add a piece like that it’s great for our ballclub.”

This Paris Olympics 2024 will be a huge chance for Kevin Durant to become the first four-time men’s basketball player to win a gold medal in Olympic history. Three years ago the USA won the gold in Tokyo Olympics followed by 2016 Rio de Janeiro in 2016 and London Olympics in 2012.

He said returning to London brought back recollections of his early Olympic experiences. The Paris Olympics begin on July 26. Two days later, the United States men's team would face Serbia in Lille, France, in their opening game of the tournament.
