Las Vegas Aces beat Washington Mystic to win their 6th straight game in WNBA

Basketball: On Thursday night Las Vegas Aces crushed all hopes of Washington Mystics to win their sixth consecutive game in the ongoing WNBA season.

On Thursday night Las Vegas Aces crushed all hopes of Washington Mystics to win their sixth consecutive game in the ongoing WNBA season. Las Vegas Aces defeated Washington Mystic by the score of 98-77 as Kelsey Plum scored 28 points which included six three-pointers. 

For the two-time reigning champion Las Vegas Aces (12-6), Plum shot 6 of 9 from 3-point range and finished 10 of 13 overall from the field. Young recorded her fourth double-double of the year and her second in a row. With a 27.0 scoring average, A'ja Wilson leads the league. Wilson ended with 18 points and nine rebounds. 

Washington (5-16) was paced by Shatori Walker-Kimbrough, who scored 19 points off the bench. Emily Engstler scored ten points and pulled down a team-high eight rebounds, while Ariel Atkins scored eighteen points. After a layup by A'Ja Wilson, Alysha Clark sandwiched a basket and two free throws, allowing Las Vegas to score the last six points and lead 23-20 at the half.

With 7:16 minutes left in the second quarter, Walker-Kimbrough scored two free throws to get the lead for the Washington Mystics by 26-25. Meanwhile for Las Vegas Aces, Kelsey Plum scored three-pointers to give them a lead of 43-29 and by half time Las Vegas Aces were leading by 48-35.

Rough start for Washington Mystic

During the third quarter with 4:25 minutes left, Jackie Young took charge and had them lead by 67-4. Later in three minutes, Plum scored two back-to-back three-pointers to hold strong the advantage. Both Washington Mystics and Los Angeles Aces are playing their second match in three games.

This was the Washington Mystic's fourth back-to-back road game in the WNBA season. Washington Mystic had a bad start to the WNBA season as they lost 12 straight games in a row. Now they have won five games and lost 4. Their next game is on Saturday as they will face Minnesota Lynx and on Sunday they will host Dallas Wings.
