Kendrick Perkins, a former NBA champion, thinks the Warriors haven't done enough to center their roster on Steph Curry for the next campaign. Last season, Golden State finished 10th in the standings and lost in the play-in round, preventing them from making the playoffs. The Los Angeles Lakers upset the reigning champion Warriors in the conference semifinals the previous season.

Perkins believes Curry has lost the 'joy' of playing for the Warriors during the last two years due to their roster-building strategies, which focus on running two timelines concurrently: developing young players and competing for a championship.

"You still have Steph Curry, a guy that wants to win, a guy that every single season, he wants to go out and win a championship," Perkins said on Wednesday's NBA Today Show."You can see the joy that he played with in the Olympics ... Winning the gold medal. It was all over his face, the emotions. We haven't seen that since they last won the championship. That's going over two years now," as per Sportskeeda.

Although Perkins agreed that it's important to plan for the future, he also said that, with Curry turning 36 this season, it's more important to concentrate on the here and now. The Warriors lost Klay Thompson to free agency, but they added Buddy Hield, De'Anthony Melton, and Kyle Anderson—three of the top free-agent prospects—this summer. But that doesn't really change their expectations for a title. Golden State needs a consistent second-scoring option and depth at the center position in addition to Steph Curry.

Steph Curry remains one of the NBA's finest

Despite turning 36 and likely nearing the last stages of his great career, Stephen Curry remains one of the NBA's finest. He is still motivated to win trophies, having won four in the past decade, the most for a player of his skill. Curry expressed his opinions on his future with the team, stating that he is not interested in being a part of a 'bottom feeder.'  Curry appears to have trust that the Warriors will turn things around and concentrate their time with him. However, roster changes during the summer imply otherwise.
