Jalen Brunson and Tyrese Haliburton appear and confront each other on WWE Smackdown (Source: X)
Tyrese Haliburton and Jalen Brunson were up against each other on Friday Night Smackdown. The Basketball rivals had a brief faceoff with each other in a couple of instances in the night. While Tyrese was in the arena to help his friend Logan Paul, Jalen assisted LA Knight before a potential brawl broke down. The fans in New York were behind their hometown boy as they showed their support.
The NBA duo was in attendance at Madison Square Garden as WWE returned to the iconic venue. There was a match between LA Knight, Paul, and Santos Escobar for the Money in the Bank qualiers. Before the match started, the focus went to Jalen who was already in the arena to see the match. Logan entered the arena to big booes from the fans. But he did not come alone.
The US Champion brought with him the Indiana Pacers player. The crowd did not like it and booed the duo. As Logan prepared for his match, Tyrese Haliburton went straight to Brunson. The duo was on either sides of the ringside during the match. Haliburton attempted to lend Paul his braced knuckles. But Knight escaped the wrath and somehow managed to beat the US Champion in the match to claim a win.
Basketball rivalry revisted in WWE
After Knight pinned Paul, Tyrese got his braced knuckles and offered to Paul. Things did not seem to be going well for the Megastar. In walked Jalen with an equalizer. The Knicks player came up with a steel chair and forced the duo of Tyrese and Paul to retreat. The fans chanted "MVP" as Jalen Brunson came to Knight's assistance. It was a good instance and the fans seemed to be in love with it.
Pacers and Knicks have a history with each other in recent times. In the Eastern Conference semifinals, Pacers beat Knicks to enter the final. During the match, Brunson suffered an injury and could not deliver his best. Tyrese had the last laugh in the Basketball arena. However, it was Jalen who stood tall in his backayrd in New York, as he forced Tyrese and Logan to vacate the arena.
