NBA Insider Zach Lowe makes statements suggesting that Klay Thompson, the Golden State Warriors' four-time NBA champion, maybe going for free agency. According to Lowe, the Warriors and Thompson's agents have not held substantial negotiations regarding a new contract in some months.

According to PINKVILLA, Lowe wrote: “There have been no substantive talks between the team and Thompson’s representatives about a new deal for months now”

Furthermore, taking into mind the Jrue Holiday agreement, he continued, "Both sides undoubtedly took note of the four-year, $135 million extension Jrue Holiday – almost Thompson's age — signed with the Celtics last week. Thompson will generate some attention in free agency, according to league sources.

Despite doubts surrounding Klay Thompson's future with the Warriors, head coach Steve Kerr feels the club still needs him.

Klay Thompson future with Golden State Warriors became even more doubtful

As per PINKVILLA, Steve Kerr recently said, "We need Klay back. He still has good years left. And I speak for everyone, we want him back."

Thompson's future with Golden State Warriors became even more doubtful after a dismal performance in the play-in round when he went 0-for-10 from the field in the team's defeat to the Sacramento Kings. This setback is being considered as the end of the Warriors dynasty and maybe the final appearance of Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson as teammates.

Despite his age and previous ailments, Thompson's excellent career and sharpshooting skills are sure to pique the curiosity of other clubs if he decides not to re-sign with the Warriors. The Orlando Magic and Detroit Pistons have previously been mentioned as probable destinations for the sharpshooter; if this is true, it will mark a new chapter in Thompson's career.
