Ahead of the Sunday evening game against Utah Jazz Golden State Warriors are resting their star player Stephen Curry. During the game against Dallas Mavericks Stephen Curry played 35 minutes team-high. The match against the Utah Jazz is going to be important for the Golden State Warriors to improve their position in the Western Conference as they are in play-in position.

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr hinted before the game on Friday that Curry may be rested. Stephen Curry played 71 games in 2023-24, the highest in a single season for the 36-year-old since 2016-17 when he played 79. Furthermore, the 2,320 minutes he has played are his highest workload since 2018-19.

Curry is having another outstanding season, scoring a team-best 26.5 points in 32.7 minutes. He leads the NBA with 339 3-pointers, the fourth-highest total in a single season in NBA history.

As Stephen Curry will be rested on Sunday, Chris Paul will likely play a larger role as point guard for the Golden State Warriors. In 358 minutes with Sunday's currently inactive, Paul is averaging 1.12 FanDuel points per minute and an 18.8% barrel rate.

Andrew Wiggins is doubtful

Another Golden State Warriors player Andrew Wiggins is doubtful due to left ankle pain, which held him out Friday. Forward Jonathan Kuminga is uncertain due to bilateral knee tendonitis. Kuminga has missed the previous six games due to an illness, although it is not deemed significant. According to Kerr, Wiggins and Kuminga are day-to-day.

In the Western Conference, the Golden State Warriors are placed in 10th position with four games ahead of the Huston Rockets. Still, five games are remaining to play for the Golden State Warriors. While the Los Angeles Lakers are placed in the 8th position. For 9th position, Golden State Warriors are two games behind Sacramento Kings.
