Mat Ishbia is aware that the Phoenix Suns' summer buzz revolves around a team with a top-heavy roster, salary cap difficulties, and little space to maneuver following a poor season. The second-year owner does not believe it.

According to AP News, Mat Ishbia stated, “The narrative that the house is burning is incorrect.” “The Phoenix Suns are doing great. Excellent. Not as good as we want to be. Not as good as we’re going to do next year. And that’s what we’re going to figure out — what we’ve got to tweak, modify, and adjust to win a championship next year.”

Mat Ishbia and Phoenix Suns general manager James Jones spoke to the media on Wednesday, three days after their club was eliminated from the playoffs in the first round by the Minnesota Timberwolves. It was a disappointing showing from a club with championship ambitions after collecting the All-Star three of Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, and Bradley Beal.

Ishbia, who shares his time between Michigan and Arizona, is back in the desert to conduct exit interviews and plan the franchise's course for the coming season. This involves determining if coach Frank Vogel will continue for a second season. Ishbia stated that he did not want to discuss Vogel's performance because he had not yet spoken with him, but he did say multiple times that he wanted to keep continuity.

Kevn Durant had a good season

The Suns' expected starting lineup for next season is Booker, Beal, Kevin Durant, center Jusuf Nurkic, and guard Grayson Allen. Allen led the league in 3-point shooting % this season and averaged a career-high 13.8 points per game, but he hurt his ankle in Game 1 against the Wolves and was unable to contribute much.

Durant, 35, continues to defy age with another outstanding season, scoring over 27 points per game and appearing in 75 of 82 games. He's one of the most prolific scorers in NBA history, but it's understandable to question how long he can keep playing at this level.
